SUBJECT: Minutes of Peterson Air & Space Museum Foundation Staff Meeting, 0900hrs,
27 February 2017

Opening Remarks: Meeting called to order at 0905.
Whalen showed the “Mystery at the Museum” TV episode which showed how a wrong phone number in the newspaper resulted in NORAD becoming the place to call to track Santa Claus’s Christmas Eve flight. Even showed our red White House only phone.
Long commented that the review of 2016 financials by an outside CPA firm had gone well with the firm signing off on the numbers. Long also presented brief January 2017 results: income $3,078, expense $53 and $75676 cash in the bank.
Henderson commented that visitor, etc. numbers were incomplete and not meaningful anyway after only one month of the year.
Curator’s Update – Whalen
Showed the website home page and then the calendar in the members only section.
Discussed the calendar contents (e.g. retirement schedules, large groups) and the scheduling difficulties, due, in part, to not enough docents.
Whalen said we need about 16 new full time docents. A recruiting campaign is planned.
