CF-188A (CF-18) Exhibit Dedication

CF-188A Hornet Display Dedication

June 24, 2016

The Government of Canada has donated CF-188 Hornet fighter aircraft (Tail Number 188723) to the United States Air Force Heritage Program. It has been loaned to the Peterson Air & Space Museum in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The aircraft’s paint scheme commemorates Canada and the United States’ partnership within NORAD. The aircraft was transferred from Bagotville, QC, to Colorado Springs, CO, in March 2016.
The donation of this decommissioned CF-188 from the Government of Canada to the U.S. Air Force Heritage Program is a gesture of appreciation for our longstanding and continued close relationship in defending North America from any external or internal threats.
This aircraft will be displayed as a proud reminder of the partnership between Canada and the United States through NORAD, with the goal of highlighting Canada’s 58 years participation.

The dedication was highlighted by remarks from Colonel Douglas A. Schiess, Commander, 21 Space Wing; and, Lieutenant General Pierre St. Amand, Deputy Commander, NORAD, followed by the ribbon cutting and reception.
