DIRECTOR VISIT:
- M/Gen Charles D. METCALF toured (one and one half hours) the Museum
23 Aug 07.
- Pleased with the new storage facilities (Broadmoor Hangar) and general appearance of the facilities,
- AFSPC/HO citied the Museum as the “show place of the Command.”
- The
Museum will undergo the
GOLF
CART:
- 21 SW has funded the purchase of Golf Carryall Cart.
- Service agreement is included.
- Cart will be used to transport equipment to plane sites for maintenance activities and to meet handicap visitor’s support.
- Delivery is expected within two to three weeks.

SPACE WING COMMANDER’S VISITOR:
- Col Raymond conducted a walkthrough of the facilities 30 Aug 07.
- Museum will host Wing’s monthly promotion ceremony.
- No problems citied. KUDOs to all for the preparation.

- Aircraft has been completely repainted.
- Museum received personal interest and funding support from NORAD/CC.

- Corrective painting of the colors will start next week.

ACCIDENT:
- On 21 Aug 07 a vehicle from the Base Grounds Contractor struck the aircraft’s left horizontal stabilizer.
- With the assistance of the 302AW, a temporary patch is in place.
- Discussions with the NMAF resulted in the decision to replace the stabilizer rather than repair the damage.
- Working details to find replacement parts.
COMPUTER
PURCHASE:
- Curator requested Foundation funding support for two new PCs to support Artifacts Inventory and Library Research activities.
- GRAY and WHALEN will work out the details.
BUSY SEPTEMBER:
-Very busy month ahead.
- Will need an all hands effort.

-Working on the THOR Missile, MGS,
and DISCOVER capsule.
-Related the now unclassified
history of the DISCOVER capsule to include John CAWOOD’s involvement.

construction has been established in the
