OPENING
REMARKS: Meeting called to order at 0905.
No changes in minutes of August meeting.
Treasurer
Long presented the August 2016 financial report: Revenue $4,236; Expense $2,308;
Net Income $1,928; Cash in bank $49,661 for operations and $19,421 for
Broadmoor Hangar Renovation.
McClelland
was out of town. His report was read by

hits are dropping as expected in the fall.
Email
problems are now resolved. Online
visitor requests is up and running well now.
Changes
requested by our Board have been made to Broadmoor Hangar page.

Curator Update (Whalen)
Lack
of sufficient number of docents is necessitating occasion museum closings.
There
will be a reunion of Denver WWII veterans and USS Passumpsic at the museum on
Sept. 29.
Volunteer numbers are down some due
to health reasons. A recruiting effort
is planned.
CE is working on buildings and
grounds repair after the hail storm.
We can accept donated artifacts that
pertain to the Peterson AFB story. And we
can help find places for items we cannot accept.
Long commented that the Museum will
be represented by advertisements in two insert magazines in the Colorado
Springs Gazette- one in October and one is November. He also commented that a replacement needs to
be found for the Museum Store Manager position as Janet Blanshine has recently resigned.
Carl Silber related that he and five
other WWII Army Air Corps/Army Air Force re-enactors were at the 69th
Anniversary ceremony of the creation of the USAF in mid-September at the AF
Space Command Headquarters.
John Brown announced that the Annual
Presidential Volunteer Service Award pins for members for 2015 are now in
hand. An awards ceremony is being
planned.
